Artist talk with Hall and Jensen
Talk

Come to an exciting evening of music, poetry, literature and history.
Museum director Janus Møller Jensen will guide us through Martin Hall and Søren Jensen's memories of Janina Katz and the musical work her voice has given birth to.
Ten years ago, the spoken word album was released Left behind with poems by Janina Katz musically staged by Martin Hall.
On this occasion, we have exclusively invited musician and author Martin Hall to the museum together with author and radio producer Søren E. Jensen for a conversation about the work, Janina Katz and her story.
The event will take place in the museum's atmospheric exhibition space, so there are limited seats. Doors open at 16:45 PM, where there will be bubbles and nuts.
Left at the Danish Jewish Museum
The evening sets the tone for the larger project at the museum, which is called Left at the Danish Jewish Museum. In this project, we will focus on the story of the arrival of Polish Jews in Denmark through the autumn of 2025 and into the winter of 2026, using Janina Katz's writing as a prism. The project consists of an exhibition, lecture, event, and podcast, so keep an eye on the event calendar and our news.
Who is Janina Katz?
Janina Katz came to Denmark in 1970. She was one of around 3.000 Polish Jews who came to Denmark fleeing persecution in Poland in the years 1969-75. In her extensive Danish writing from 1991 until her death in 2013, she wrote with power and irony about topics such as persecution, flight, belonging, identities, language, love, in short, about being human. The work Left Behind was published posthumously in 2015.
