The autumn holidays at the Danish Jewish Museum
Hidden stories and creative activities

The autumn holidays are the perfect opportunity to explore the museum's many layers of history and play. We have put together an exciting holiday program filled with creative workshops, fun tasks and little surprises that make history come alive for both young and old.
Characters and stories for the little ones - every day
Take the whole family on an adventurous journey in the middle of Copenhagen, where the past and creativity meet at a child-friendly level! In our museum shop we have hidden real bricks from the time of Christian IV – and that is no coincidence. The museum is located in the king's old galley house, and this is noticeable in both the atmosphere and the activities.
Here, children (and adults with imagination!) can color their very own version of the iconic king with the characteristic beard. At the same time, you can delve into Christian IV's fascination with coin design - and maybe try your hand as a royal artist yourself. Who knows, maybe there's a little coin master hiding in the family?
Tour with the museum director - Wednesday, October 15th
As an extra bonus during the autumn holidays, museum director Janus Møller Jensen will be on hand to give an introduction to the museum's new special exhibition. "Left Behind. Janina Katz and the Polish Jews in Denmark". Here you will have the opportunity to experience a moving and thought-provoking story about identity, migration and cultural heritage – conveyed with respect and depth. It will take place on Wednesday, October 15th at 1:00 PM.
