Left behind. Janina Katz
In 2025/2026, the Danish Jewish Museum arranged a special exhibition: Left behind. Janina Katz and the Polish Jews in Denmark, where the museum, with the Polish-Danish-Jewish author Janina Katz as a prism, told the story of the arrival of Polish Jews to Denmark in the years 1969 – 1975. Janina Katz published several books and poetry collections, received a lifetime grant from the Danish Arts Foundation and was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize for the poetry collection. Written in Polish.
Theologian, author and radio producer Søren E. Jensen, who contributed to the exhibition at the Danish Jewish Museum, will talk about Katz and supplement it with readings of her works as well as various audio excerpts, including from her and Martin Hall's spoken word album. Left behind.
