A new book on Danish Jewish history has been nominated for an award
Bent Blüdnikow's book Boundless Jews. The game about Denmark and Morocco in the 1700th century (published by the publisher Gad), which was presented at the museum back in September, has been nominated for the Weekenavisen's Literature Prize 2024.
It has been well received and has deservedly received fantastic reviews, e.g. by recognized historians such as Ulrik Langen and Steffen Heiberg.
The incredible and largely unknown story of the Jewish families Sumpel and Buzaglo and their widely branched network and connections not only sheds new light on Danish Jewish history, but the entire history of Denmark, in a well-laid out and well-written way.
You can experience Bent Blüdnikow in conversation with the museum's director Janus Møller Jensen on Historical Days until March 2025.
So already put a cross in the calendar and next to the book as nominated for Weekendavisen's literature prize 2024 - you can vote here (however, this requires a subscription to the newspaper)
