Can a painting be cursed?

18/03/24

Author lecture

Associate professor Anders Ravn Sørensen and museum inspector Benjamin Asmussen have been wondering about this for 7 years! They have followed on the heels of a painting from the 1700th century, painted by the famous Jens Juel.
The painting's owners have been involved in gigantic fraud cases, huge bank claims, consistent tax evasion and much more, and it's almost as if bad luck sticks to the painting.
In this lecture, the two authors talk about the painting, the owners and the studies, as well as the Jewish connections in the history of the painting in the 1700th and 1900th centuries.
