Life on the run
New teaching process

Life on the run
What can a photo album tell us about life in exile in Sweden '43? We ask that question in a new teaching course that you can now register for your class.
In the teaching course 'Life on the Run', we examine different types of sources that tell about the Danish Jews' flight to and stay in Sweden during the occupation.
How did life take shape in Sweden? How did the Danish Jews experience living in another country? And how can we gain knowledge about it?
We investigate this together with students in a double teaching process. First we visit you - then you visit us.
We invite the students to look at the photo albums as historical sources. Perhaps their observations and questions can contribute to creating more knowledge about the lives of the children and young people in particular during their stay in Sweden.
Which motifs have found a place in the photo albums? And which have been omitted? What can the photo albums as sources tell us about life in exile, as a child or as a young person?
We are so happy that the City of Copenhagen has provided funding for the project. That is why we can now offer the course for free to primary schools in the City of Copenhagen.
