'Marsk Stig's Daughters' by Geskel Salomon
The Danish Jewish Museum is involved in a project where the Danish National Gallery of Art has received support to restore, exhibit and disseminate a major work by the Danish-Jewish artist Geskel Saloman (1821-1902).
The work, Marsk Stig's daughters, will, after the restoration, be included in SMK's new presentation of the collection when it opens in the fall of 2028. In addition, a number of initiatives, including in collaboration with the artist Yvette Brackman, will communicate the work and its significance.
The project is in collaboration with the Danish Jewish Museum and the Danish National Gallery of Art. The project has received support from the Danish Agency for Palaces and Culture's special fund for information on Jewish life and culture in Denmark 2022-2025.
The project runs from 2025 - 2028
