Special tour with the museum director

15/10/25

Meet the museum director and experience a powerful new special exhibition

As an extra bonus during the autumn holidays, museum director Janus Møller Jensen will be on hand to give an introduction to the museum's new special exhibition. "Left Behind. Janina Katz and the Polish Jews in Denmark".

Janina Katz's story is both a tale of escape, survival and identity – and of belonging in a new country. She survived the Holocaust as a child, fled anti-Semitism in communist Poland and became a prominent voice in Danish literature. In the exhibition, her life and work become a prism for a larger story of double persecution, cultural heritage and living with multiple identities.

The exhibition also focuses on an overlooked part of Danish Holocaust memory, which is not about the story of 'October 1943', but about the trauma and loss that Polish Jews brought with them to Denmark.

Time and ticket: The tour starts on Wednesday, October 15th at 1:00 PM and is free as soon as you have redeemed a ticket to the museum.
