Vilnius and the city's great poets

04/06/24

New podcast coming soon!

A podcast episode about Lithuania's Jewish population and rich cultural life, which was destroyed during World War II, will be released soon. The podcast was recorded during the Jewish Culture Festival in Copenhagen, where Laimis Briedis and Jan Schwarz spoke about Vilnuis and the city's great poets.

At the Jewish Culture Festival on June 6, you could experience Laimis Briedis in conversation with Jan Schwarz about Vilnius and the city's great poets.
The story of Lithuania's Jewish population and rich cultural life, which was completely destroyed by Nazism during the Second World War, is for many an unknown story, but of great importance also for Denmark, partly because of the connections that existed between Denmark and Lithuania, but also because of descendants of Holocaust survivors who later came to Denmark. In that way, it is also part of Danish Jewish history.
Laimis Briedis and Jan Schwarz focused on this in this podcast, which was recorded the same day at the Danish Jewish Museum in collaboration with the Lithuanian Cultural Attaché in Sweden, Finland and Denmark and with support from the Lithuanian Cultural Institute and the Lithuanian Embassy in Denmark.
The podcast will be published during the month of June.
