Citrus, palm fronds and a hut – the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles!

This is what this year's cultural night on 14 October at the Danish Jewish Museum sounds like, where we erect a lion hut and invite inside the hut on the forecourt and talk about the Danish, Jewish and not least Copenhagen celebration of the holiday Sukkot for 400 years.

We need your help. During the month of September, we collect pictures of the many sukkahs that have either stood or are still standing around Denmark.

So if you have pictures of a sukkah in Denmark or your sukkot celebration, we would love to hear from you! On the culture night, the newly collected images will be displayed on boards in our own festively decorated sukkah in front of the museum.

Here's how you do it: Send an email with your photos (preferably as large a file as possible) and a short text. The text should explain what you see in the pictures and how you usually celebrate Sukkot. The email must be sent to Laura at lhj@jewmus.dk. She will then contact you and forward a donation declaration that you must sign.

The donations will be registered in the museum's collection and saved for posterity as documentation of Jewish life in Denmark.
