Books
from the Danish Jewish Museum
The Danish Jewish Museum is also a publishing house. We publish books and have just started a brand new book series about various aspects of Jewish life in Denmark in relation to the outside world.
The first book in the series is Jews in the province written by Bent Blüdnikow, published by the museum in 2026.
Follow the website and our social media for new releases. The next release in the book series will be in the spring of 2027, in continuation of a special exhibition about Daniel Libeskind.

Reviews
Kristeligt dagblad
Bent Blüdnikow's book about Jews in the provinces is like attending a family lunch, where the older members of the family talk loosely about the old days.
The Cultural Chapel
'Jews in the Province' is well-written popular education at its best: solid without being heavy, lively without becoming clever, and serious without losing sight of the peculiarities of people. After finishing reading, the map of Denmark has become larger - and the history richer.
History-online.dk
It is a kaleidoscopic presentation of a hitherto overlooked part of both Danish Jewish history and Danish history, reminding the reviewer that there is and was much more at stake. The history and culture of the Jews are, after all, the backdrop for the Christian world and thus ultimately also for Danish provincial culture.

Jews in the province
Jewish horse traders, bakers, soldiers, rabbis and much more! You can read about all of that in Bent Blüdnikow's new book Jews in the provinceIt is a book full of enterprising and colorful Jewish destinies that have helped shape Denmark.
In almost all Danish cities there has been an active and visible Jewish life. The book takes as its starting point the family behind the brush binding business in Randers, which also provided inspiration for furnishing a Jewish home in Den Gamle By in Aarhus.
The stories of Jewish life in the provinces are a fascinating and important part of Danish history, and we greatly appreciate both the research and dissemination collaboration with Den Gamle By and Bent Blüdnikow in publications and exhibitions.
The book is for sale in the museum shop and can be ordered from your local bookseller.
