Danish Jewish history in Copenhagen

Now with this hike you can make sure to keep both your body and brain moving. Take a historical walk through Danish Jewish history in Copenhagen.
On the 5 km long hike you will pass selected points of impact in Danish Jewish history. The route, which starts at the Danish Jewish Museum's unique architecture, takes you past the location of Copenhagen's first synagogue and to the atmospheric Jewish burial ground in Nørrebro. Along the way, you will meet buildings and memorials, each of which contains important stories about Jewish life in Denmark over 400 years.
Jews have lived everywhere in Denmark since Christian IV formally invited Jews to settle in Glückstadt in 1622. In a number of market towns, but especially in Copenhagen, there are still traces of a rich Jewish life. On this walking tour through Copenhagen with stops at relevant addresses, landmarks and memorials, you can experience the many facets of Danish Jewish cultural history.
Enjoy!
